things to consider

*consider every region deserving free radio. that is media by & for the community consisting of art, culture & information that all mainstream broadcasting throws out the window. freedom of speech is one of our most downtrodden basic rights & free radio might be our best way to take it back.
*consider berea the craft capital of kentucky, a college campus of forward-thinking minds, or just another smalltown.
*consider a weekend overload of community culture & local goods for $25 that goes directly to bringing free community radio to this region.
*consider merj market as the model for a sustainable local foods provider & community center for this region. located on highway 421 next to pilot knob just minutes from berea.
*consider a festival in the blazing sun with free local springwater & showers.
*consider fresh market foods available.
*consider lending your hands to plant a freshly plowed field during a music festival.
*consider a music festival that isn't dominated by jambands & all the artists play for free!
*consider using your video camera to help us document this event for a rebate on your ticket price.
*consider a film festival & a schedule of workshops running simultaneously. we need your independant films & demonstrations of your knowledge through workshops for the community. (BECOME THE MEDIA!)
*consider a place for fun activities for our littlest community members.
*consider kids under 15 admitted for free.
*consider that merj market won't pickup any cellphone reception.
*consider an ohm dome with speakers run throughout the garden, for relaxing in a lowkey enviroment with select dj sets. consider bringing your ipod so you can be a dj.
*consider a discount for riding your bike or volunteering for the festival.
*consider an afternoon bikeride to a swimming hole.
*consider prizes for whoever can pick up the most trash on thier way out.
*consider shopping at a community silent auction/yardsale.
*consider donating your art and old junk to our silent auction/yard sale.
*consider a friday night potluck where you bring food & have an awesome dinner for free.
*consider what an impact you can have for the promise of commercial-free, community radio in central kentucky by coming to the honeytown solstice festival. we need you!
*consider your face melting off of your head.
